Community Involvement
We love all of the countries and communities where we have operations. All of our community activities are directed at making these communities outstanding places to live, work and raise families. Our preferred way to contribute is through the donation of products and paid associate time. Additionally, American Pacific is part owned by a foundation and supports conservation and environmental causes, affordable housing, animal shelters, libertarian causes, community colleges and schools and experimental brain research. Recent recipients of support include Audubon Mississippi, Rust College, Northwest Community College, Holly Springs High School, Marshall Academy, The Marshall County Historical Museum, The Clydesdale Christmas Store for Underprivileged Children and the American Cancer Society with sponsorship of the Killer Kudzu 5K Run, the Tennessee Walking Horse Show and the Relay For Life.
Our associates continue to make a tremendous investment in their communities and it is wonderful to know that we have made a difference.
American Pacific was honored to receive the Eddie Smith Extra Mile Award by President David Beckley of Rust College. Located in Holly Springs, Rust College is a private liberal arts college with enrollment of 1,000 students. Founded in 1866, Rust College is one of the oldest historically black colleges in the nation.
American Pacific was honored to join with companies like Hunter Fan and Parker Hannifin in receiving the award of Industry of the Year. The award was given by the Marshall County Board of Supervisors, the Marshall County Industrial Development Authority and the Chambers of Commerce of Byhalia and Holly Springs, Mississippi.
Although there are many wonderful causes and it is difficult to choose, we are inspired by Amnesty International's motto: It is better to light a candle than curse the darkness.
We are also realistic at what can be accomplished and how we can make the most lasting and sustainable contribution. We believe the Ford Motor Company has done more for humanity than the Ford Foundation. We believe that in all the communities we operate, skilled entrepreneurs are needed like social workers. We believe that capitalism plus integrity is the most powerful force on earth for eradicating poverty, raising standards of living, creating opportunity and providing freedom. We have created terrific jobs at a rate that greatly outpaces the economy. We have never experienced an employment downturn. We believe that creating new and fantastic products creates new and fantastic jobs and this is what we are most passionate about.
Nothing great in this world has ever been accomplished without passion. — G.W.F. Hegel
When love and skill work together, expect a masterpiece. — John Ruskin
